Chemical Peels
Chemical peel is a procedure that involves application of a chemical solution to the skin with a purpose of inducing exfoliation of the upper skin layers. This technique can be used on face, neck and hands. The depth of skin peeling as well as the effect and recovery time depend on the type and strength of the chemical agent.
Chemical peels are commonly used for the following:
- treatment of acne
- reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
- treatment of various pigmentation problems, including age spots and melasma (dark patches induced by pregnancy and birth control pills)
- improvement of dull complexion and overall skin texture
